Happy Birthday Sailor

Sailor Bug is 1 year old. Can you believe it? She is a toddler now :) This child is so amazing. She is full of giggles, grins, and soooo much personality!! I am just in awe when I watch her. It's so funny talking to her because she talks back.... in a totally different language ;) My mom just watched her talking on a toy cell phone.... it seemed that she was saying something pretty important.... then she paused as if to let the person on the other end of the line have a chance to respond..... then she started saying something else. It was hilarious! She's so smart!! It's cool to hear her repeat things too. She says "Good Girl", "Ho Ho Ho", "Uh-Oh", and "Bad"... for when we yell at the dogs..lol! I also love that she gives us kisses! She's the coolest little kid EVER!! She's not walking yet, but she's VERY close. She can absolutely walk by herself, she is just too afraid. But she took like 5 steps toward my dad on Friday night! She is soooo close!! Cameron is out of town and he won't be back until next weekend and he keeps saying that by the time he come home and walks through the front door that she will walk over to him... but I'm not so sure!! She's just too scared to let go. She practically RUNS when she's holding on to something though! We go to the doctor tomorrow and find out if she weighs any more.... and hopefully she will be able to get off formula!! That would be GREAT for us, because MAN, it is EXPENSIVE!! Next we need to get her potty trained, so we can cut out the expense of having to buy diapers!! LOL. She weighed 17lbs.10oz. when I took her to the doctor last Wednesday!! Hopefully she will weigh more tomorrow. The poor kid wants to be in a forward facing carseat SSOOOOOOO bad :( I have put together a slide show for her birthday. We spent it at my parents house. I also have a video of us singing happy birthday. She doesn't seem really happy in the cake pictures because we had just woken her up from a nap, she was still tired!!

No Thanksgiving For Us!!

Most of you probably know by now that Sailor Bug got sick with a stomach virus this past Monday night. She finally started feeling better on Thanksgiving day. Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for our little buggy!! She made a complete 180 degree change from Wednesday morning to Wednesday night and I know it's from all your prayers!! Unfortunately she passed it on to her mommy :( I was in bed ALL DAY Thursday, and poor Cameron and Sailor had to stay home and do nothing. No turkey, no dressing, no giblet gravy, and most importantly... NO PUMPKIN PIE!!! Fortunately for me.... Christmas is just around the corner!! So I will have another chance to make it to YUMMY turkey dinner!! The saddest part for me was that it was Sailor's first Thanksgiving and we missed it!! So I think next year we will celebrate her 1st THANKSGIVING!!

Two-Steppin' Baby

I just wanted to let everyone know that Sailor took 2 steps today!!! We were trying to get her to walk back and forth between us and then she did it!! They might have been on accident, and they were very quick and wobbly.... she gets very scared if she's not holding on to anything.... but none-the-less.... she walked 2 steps without holding on to anything!!

Birthday Buggy

Well, Sailor Bug had her 1st birthday party yesterday!! How incredible!! I know I always say this and so does everyone else with children, but MAN, TIME GOES BY SO FAST!! Now that I'm writing this... I'm thinking that I can't believe it has already passed!! It was so much fun though!! We had a ladybug theme, and boy was Sailor cute!! I love her so much. It's amazing how babies change into big kid toddlers! It's like it happens overnight. Cameron and I just look at her now, her sweet, goofy personality and her reactions to things and her facial expressions are just so grown-up. She doesn't even look like a baby anymore! She didn't do very well at Halloween. We had to take her home early because she freaked out. I was really nervous to see how she was going to do during her birthday party... but she was AWESOME!! I couldn't have asked for a better party!! She did great!! Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate this special event in our life. Praise God for such a big group of family and friends that we have!! I think for her real birthday (11-25-07) we are going to Nana snd Grandpa's (Christina's parents) house!! Our camera started acting up about a week before her party.... and my sweet husband surprised me with a new one the night before her party!! Thanks babe!! It really came in handy for the best part of the party.... THE CAKE!! She DOVE IN, and then proceeded to paint herself with the icing! I love you Sailor Bug. Praise God for you!! I hope you enjoy the pictures!!

11 Months..... aaahhhhhhh!!

Well our little Sailor Bug is 11 1/2 months old now! I can’t believe it!! She is just so much fun though, but boy does she have a little temper. If you take something away from her or not give her enough attention, she will GLADLY protest!! She is not walking yet, but she does boogie around the couch now!! She can walk around anything, as long as she is holding on to something. She plays pat-a-cake on her own now, and she can say “Uh-Oh” she just learned that one on Thursday. She has said na-na-na… for Nana. My mom will take anything right now!! Lol. She is very talkative and has lots to say! It’s all in her own language though!! She is such a lovey!! I love her. God has blessed us way more than we even deserve!! She still has 6 teeth, and she is still in 3-6 month clothes. I’m sorry to say that she even has some 0-3 month clothes she can still wear :( but she is getting out of almost all of her 0-3 month onesies!! WooHoo!! Can you believe it?!?! I’m hoping that she ATLEAST weighs 18lbs…. Though I’m not sure!! Our goal was to have her in a forward facing car seat by a year, but I’m sad to say that it doesn’t look like that is going to happen… sorry Sailor Bug!! She IS growing though. Here are some pics of us at the pumpkin patch, some of her rockin’ a Mohawk in the tub, and the few we got from Halloween…. She sort of freaked out on Halloween so we had to take her home early :( I was so sad. We were at our church’s Family Fall Fun Festival. I was a cat :)

I never wanted Sailor to get teeth. Well, she has them and I find myself working harder now to get her to crack a smile than before she had teeth!! I just love seeing them. They are sooooo cute!! She has the biggest gap between her top two and I love it!!! She now has 6 teeth... KEEP SMILING LADYBUG!!!

There has been alot going on lately.... My brother has decided to go into the Army. I'm excited and terrified for him at the same time!! I went to stay a couple of days with my parents last week so we could all hang out before TJ has to leave for boot camp. It was nice getting to hang out with them... the last night I was there we threw a going away party for him. Please join me in praying for his safety and also that the Lord would provide him the strength to get through boot camp(I watched some army videos with them...YIKES!!)!?!

Lonely Ladies

Sailor and I have been two LONELY LADIES this week. Cameron had to go out of town Monday morning to San Antonio for work. He didn't get back in town until Wednesday night at 9pm and then had to leave Thursday morning to go to the deer lease and didn't get back until today!! I realized how much I depend on my husband this week when he wasn't here to relieve me!! I'm am sooooo EXHASUTED!!! I HATE when Cameron goes out of town because something ALWAYS happens to me!! Well, as usual.... something stressful presented itself!!! I took Sailor to the doctor for her 9 month checkup on Monday afternoon. Everything went really well. She's a healthy little baby. She weighed 16lbs 8oz. and she was 27 1/4 in. long. I was a little dissappointed with her weight... I was hoping she would be atleast 17lbs but no go!!! I'm just praying that she will weigh enough by 12 months to be able to face forward in her carseat!!! She's just a little girl I guess!!

So I went to get my hair cut at my salon on Tuesday. While we were there Sailor was just loving the attention. After a while though she started getting fussy and then started having another crying fit like last weekend. Well she wouldn't stop screaming and so I took her to the doctor again because it was on my way home. When I got there I told the doctor that she has to find something wrong with her!!! She had a 101.3 temp the night before and I knew she was not okay... something was wrong!! Well she was checking her body over and right at the last minute she checked her feet and then her toes.... and her right pinky toe was VERY red and swollen!! It was something that I feel had just happened becuase it wasn't hurt before I went to the salon. We couldn't see a scratch or a bite mark so the doctor wanted me to go to the hospital and get an x-ray. I was sooo sad!!! It was only tuesday... Cam hadn't even been gone for two WHOLE DAYS yet and some kind of drama was already going on!!! We went and had an x-ray and she did really well. I got some antibiotic for her toe, but by the time we got home her toe alomst looked normal again!! It turned out that her foot was fine in the x-ray.... so once again I have no idea what was wrong with her!!

We ended up managing through the week without Daddy and left on Friday afternoon to go see our good friends Mitch, Kellie, & Baby Laurel in Baycity. Laurel is 3 months younger than Sailor. The Atkinson family went also.... needless to say they had a FULL house. It was so much fun though. We went out to eat when we got there and I discovered that their 6 month old baby HOLDS HER OWN BOTTLE!!! And my nine month baby doesn't!!! When we got back to their house..... I worked with Sailor a little bit and she ended up holding her own bottle.... for like 60 seconds..... then she started playing with it! But that's a start!! She also drank from her sippy cup for the first time!! And she has 5 teeth now!! CRAZY!!

It was a little stressful getting dressed for church on Sunday morning without Cameron. He normally gets Sailor Bug dressed for me and I had to do it all myself. When we got to church I went to drop her off in their nursery and the lady who worked in there grabbed Sailor from me and she started crying.... so then I started crying!!!! I couldn't believe it!! I was like, "What's wrong with me??!!" By then I was just sooooo exhausted, and I missed Cameron, and I was leaving Sailor with a PERFECT STRANGER!!! But PRAISE GOD..... HE IS SOOOO GOOD!!!... I went to check on her between Sunday School and Church and she was conked out!!! That was just what I needed to see.... I felt sooo much better after that!! When I went to Pick her up the Lady asked me how old she was and I told her 9 months. She said Sailor really surprised her.... She didn't even think she could sit up..... she set her down and then she started crawling.... a little later she looked at Sailor and saw her pull up on something and said to herself, "She must be older than I thought!!" I told her, "Yep, she's just a little PIP SQUEAK!!" We had such a blast.... Sailor pretty much stayed in Shane's arms the whole weekend.... when she wasn't in mine!! Samantha, Kellie and I went to the town square on Saturday to shop all the little stores there.... it was nice having some girl time. Thank you Jesus for the salvation of my friends!! It's so nice to have Christian friends that share the same beliefs and morals as I do!! It was also fun sharing mommy stories too... lol!!! The Halls were so kind to house Sailor and I for the weekend. Thank you guys so much! I can't wait to visit again!!! Thank you Lord for delivering Cameron to us safely. It's good to have you home Cam!!! WE MISSED YOU!!!

9 Months & Counting

Sailor bug is 9 months old today. I can't believe it. I've had a very emotional past couple of days. Haven's 1st birthday party was today as well. My girls are growing up!! I helped Jenn decorate last night for her party today and the whole time my heart just ached. I couldn't believe Haven's birthday party was already here. Haven is like my second daughter!! It just FREAKS ME OUT that I'm this emotional right now!! I'm am just going to be a WRECK when I have Sailor's party!! I'm am going to need a lot of prayer!!! As most of you probably know from reading my stories in the past... I don't want my baby girl to grow up!!! I love baby-ing her!! If she could just stay this small for a couple of years it would be SUPER!!! But I know it's better than the alternative!! So I'm just trying to take EVERY MOMENT in!!!

Sailor fell asleep on our way to Haven's party today. She slept for about 30 mins after we got there, and then woke up. I knew she was still tired but there was just too much going on. She was okay for just a little while then she started getting really fussy so I made her a bottle. By that time she was screaming at the top of her lungs and there was nothing that Cameron or I could do. Sailor has never cried like this before and no matter what we did she wouldn't calm down. I didn't know what to do. I tried to take her into other rooms but they were all filled with people. Unfortunately we had to leave and take her home. She didn't calm down until I sat on our couch with her and took her clothes off. After that she was fine. There were like 50 people in the house at Haven's party and it was very noisy... so we think that she just got overwhelmed with all the people being around her. I was so sad to see her like that though. She's never cried like that before!!! It was everything I could do to not cry myself while we where rounding up all her things. My heart sank when I had to tell Jennifer that we were going home. I wouldn't get to see Haven tear into her birthday cake or open any of her presents :( But once we got home I was glad that Sailor felt better. I hope that she doesn't get that freaked out at her own birthday party.

To give you a happy ending.... Sailor and I went back over to see Jenn and Haven tonight once everyone left the party. They played together and I got to see all the FUN presents that were opened earlier. The best part was getting to see Haven walk around in the squeaker shoes I got her. SHE LOVED THEM!!! Every time she took a step her little shoes would squeak!!

I'm not sure how much Sailor weighs.... she has a doctor's appt. on Monday. I'm hoping that she will weigh atleast 17 lbs because if she can gain a pound a month from here until her birthday then she can go in a forward facing carseat when she turns one!!! WOOHOO!!! She still is not eating any type of food other than pureed baby food. If you could be in prayer about that we would appreciate it!! I don't feel like she will ever be able to eat anything solid!! She just has the worst gag reflex... and then she throws up!!! And she still doesn't hold her bottle herself (but I secretly like that because I still get to baby her!!) She says Mama, Dada, Baba, Nanana, and her newest letter... T!! She makes the Ta sound!! You go Sailor Bug!! lol She has 4 teeth and one on the way. I love this baby girl. I know I say I don't want her to grow up but I love her more and more each and every day. Her little personality is just so much fun. God has poured out the BIGGEST blessing on Cameron and I!!! Thank you Jesus for this baby girl.

Here are some pics of Sailor today:

4 Chompers

Sailor bug cut her 4th tooth yesterday!!! She's now a dangerous human being!!! She'll strike without any warning...... She likes her pray to be very relaxed, not suspicious, just chillin' out........ then BAM!! She thinks your fingers are french fries!!! But don't pull them out.... you'll only make matters worse!!!

Exciting News!!

So I have actually gone a half of a month without posting ANYTHING!!! Sorry about that!! We have been CrAzY busy lately!! My friends and I are in the process of starting a business together.... for babies!! It's so exciting. We're calling it Baby Britches and Custom Stitches. We want to make some clothing, tutus, tote bags, jewelry, bows, shoes.....ect. We just bought our embroidery machine (IT"S SUPER COOL!!!). Our website is www.britches-n-stitches.com, but we don't have anything on it yet, but you can look for stuff later this fall..... if you have any ideas or requests you can email us at britches_n_stitches@yahoo.com!!!

Anyway, last saturday(08/04) we went to my Aunt Julie & Uncle Vernon's house. All four of their girls (Amy, Mary, Kaye & SAlly) were there. Three of them had babies last year. So we got together and let all the babies play. It was so much fun. I hadn't got to see my cousins in so long and it was such a blessing to get to spend time with them!! Thanks girls for letting me kiss all over your babies!!! THEIR PRECIOUS!!! Here are some pics from the weekend:

These are some pics of my first tutu in progress.... it was a little fluffy!! But we decided to put it on the girls (Sailor & Haven...... or "The Twins" as America has nick named them!!) and see what they thought:

Then on Monday (08/13) Sailor cut her 3RD tooth!! She's growing up guys!!!

On monday evening we went to eat with my parents for my dad's 44th Birthday. Here are some pics of Sailor and her Grandpa:

The Blessings Keep Coming!!

So sunday evening we were able to visit with our friends Josh and Hailey.... Well, on monday, Cameron's parents came by and brought us a HIGH CHAIR!!! Praise GOD!!! We've been needing one so bad! Now it is so much easier to feed Sailor and we can have her at the table with us when we eat dinner. Thank you Grammie & Pops!!

BUT WAIT, THAT'S NOT ALL!!!

On monday evening our good friends Mitch and Kellie came into town with their beautiful baby girl Laurel Ann. She is 3 months younger than Sailor and just a cutie!! It was such a blessing getting to see them. Thank you Jesus for providing us such great Christian friends to fellowship with!! I wish the visit could have been longer.... and we didn't get very many pictures because the girls were tired after we got home from eating, but here's what we got:

Growing Girl

I just packed up all her clothes that she's out-grown and found her preemie stuff.... so I put one of her preemie onesies on her while she was sleeping to see how much she's grown. She's getting so big. We weighed her friday at the doctor and she's 16 lbs now.

Our Little Ladybug

Bed Bug

Old Friends, New Friendships

Today our friends Josh and Hailey came over with their 15month old baby girl, Jillian. We haven't seen them in a while so it was such a blessing for us. The last time they saw Sailor was in January at a birthday party and she was much too young to play with then.... so it was so much fun watching the girls interact. Jillian walks everywhere and even talks a little too.... She was pretty much all about having the toy that was in Sailor's hand at the moment, but it worked out because Sailor didn't care that it was being taken away. She just got a new one!! I'm glad she's easy going, because being the younger one of all our friends, she gets picked on alot!! :-) Cameron and I are so blessed to have friends with babies around the same age as Sailor, she will have alot of wonderful friendships growing up. Praise God for that!!

8 Month Angel

Today our little Sailor Bug is 8 months old... YIKES! I look at her every day and thank God for giving me the priveledge to be her mommy. Cameron and I hold her in our arms and that's when we can really tell that she has grown, she takes up half of our body now!! I'm sure this is crazy (hopefully there are other moms out there who feel the same, so I'm not the only psycho one!!) but when they start getting older, they don't spit up near as much as when they are babies... so yesterday Sailor spit up on me and I ACTUALLY MISSED THE SMELL!!! I couldn't believe it!! I seriously hope there are other moms out there who have gone through the same thing since I'm telling this story!! lol

She's in-between 16lbs-17lbs... and working her way into almost ALL 3-6 month clothes now!! FINALLY!! She's crawling around our livingroom floor, but hasn't ventured farther than that... she's also pulling up on the sides of our couch now!!

Most of you haven't seen her crawl yet... up until a couple of day ago she only army crawled. Now she is starting to use her knees to get around(until she gets in a hurry and then she reverts back, lol.)

"Hey Mommy, Look What I Can Do!"

Her new obsession!!

My Lovies

Praise our Heavenly Father for blessing
me with these two loves of my life!!

The Hip Happenings

It's been a little while since I've posted anything.... but alot has been going on!!
Last weekend we went to my parents lake house in Trinity for the first time since Sailor's been born. They just got a new, bigger place to stay, WITH TONS MORE ROOM, (room is what you need when you bring a baby along)! We had a really nice time, the weekend just wasn't long enough.

Sailor and I went over to see Jenn and Haven last week and while we were there Sailor received her FIRST BRUISE!! I think we've done pretty good to get through almost 8 months without one... especially having wood floors!

And these are just some pictures of us eating at Chili's yeaterday after church. She had celery for the first time! I gave her one of my celery sticks to chew on (nothing was ingested, of course).... she really enjoyed it.
